A spare part for a label printing machine, made so a damaged one can be swapped out without waiting on a replacement.
PROBLEM
In the printing industry, stacks of labels are separated with sheets of cardboard backing, and an assembly on the machine kicks that backing out. One part in that assembly gets damaged in use. When it does, the machine needs a replacement ready to go in.
SOLUTION
Custom Concepts machined a new part to match the existing one, to be kept as a spare, and finished it with a red coating. Other parts go with it to make up the full assembly, so Custom Concepts is supplying the whole assembly complete.
Outcome
The machined part is finished. Some hardware is still on the way, and once it arrives the assembly will be put together complete, which gives the customer a spare ready to go into the machine the next time the part is damaged.
